College Bound: LSU

Louisiana State University and Agricultural & Mechanical College was established by the United States government, due to land grants in 1806, 1811, and 1827. It was to be used as a seminary of learning. It was officially opened January 2, 1860, with Col. William Tecumseh as superintendent.
The school closed June 30, 1861 because of the Civil War. Reopened April 1, 1863, it was closed again a mere 22 days later due to the invasion of Red River Valley. It was reopened again October 2, 1865, only to be burned down October 15, 1869. The institution resumed it’s exercises in Baton Rouge, where it has remained ever since.
I want to attend this prestigious school because it has everything in a school
that I want. It has a very high expectations, which inspires me to want to meet those expectations and get accepted to that school. It has a variety of classes, everything from music theory to agriculture. I love the fact that the school is very active. The students are politically active and there are many clubs for anyone to join. The student population is very diverse.
They have students from 121 different countries, and the students brag that if
they went the airport, and someone flew in from anywhere in the world, they could
find someone who speaks their language. They have an annual multicultural festival every November, and a huge International Hospitality Services.
Words of Wisdom from the Attendees:
“Everything happens for a reason. I'm used to it, I
prepare for it. Like I say, at the end of the day, those in
charge of their own destiny are going to do what's rights
for them and their family.”
- Shaquille O’Neal
“Do Different.”- Dr. Dawood Sultan
